The Three Sisters

Three sisters stand arm in arm against a deep rose ground, dressed in elegant dotted and embroidered fabrics. The border is scattered with beaded flowers, brooches, and colorful cloth patches. Created for The Imagined Bookcover, an art challenge about designing a cover for a children's book. The original is completely stitched by hand, without machine sewing, from vintage and reclaimed fabrics including clothing, feed sacks, and antique quilts, with buttons, beads, and other collected embellishments.
