Mr. Puddlewick Finds a Hat

A cheerful green frog in a pink polka-dot hat and bow tie sits among giant fabric flowers, a tiny cake, and a watering can. Beads, buttons, and embroidered stems fill the garden around him. Created for The Imagined Bookcover, an art challenge about designing a cover for a children's book. The original is completely stitched by hand, without machine sewing, from vintage and reclaimed fabrics including clothing, feed sacks, and antique quilts, with buttons, beads, and other collected embellishments.
