Owls in Gouache

My gouache owls are an exploration of pattern, texture, and all the tiny details hidden within feathers.

I build them up with layers of painted marks and dots, letting natural markings turn into something a little more colorful and unexpected. Each owl has its own expression, pattern, and personality, while still keeping a little of the mystery that makes owls so fascinating.
