Owls in Acrylic

My acrylic owls are all about texture, pattern, and personality.

I use layers of paint, expressive marks, and unexpected colors to build up their feathers and distinctive markings. I especially love using pointillism and seeing how far I can push the dots of paint while still keeping the feathers looking soft. I love finding that balance between individual dots and the softness and texture of real feathers.
